David R Elizondo: President & CEO
David joined HLT in 2019 as the General Manager and Senior VP of R&D. He has over 25 years of medical device and business expertise through a range of different career experiences in Structural Heart, Interventional Cardiology and Radiology, and Urology. Throughout several multi-national companies, he has held leadership positions in global Research and Development, Business Development, Project Management, Operations, Manufacturing, and Clinical Affairs. David holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a Master’s of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa. He has also completed advanced technology and management studies at both the University of Iowa and St. Thomas University (Minnesota).
Dr. Robert Wilson, MD: Founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Wilson is an interventional cardiologist, a founder of HLT Medical, and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He has devoted his professional life to the development of cardiovascular medical devices. Dr. Wilson developed the first coronary Doppler catheter to measure coronary blood flow and first characterized the use of adenosine to measure flow reserve in human coronaries. He founded ACIST Medical Systems and developed a semi-computerized angiographic injection system, which is now the worldwide standard for coronary angiography. In 2002, he co-founded HLT Medical with the goal of developing a safe, low-profile transcatheter aortic valve aimed at improving durability. Dr. Wilson holds over 75 US patents.
Dr. Satya Shreenivas, MD: Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Satya Shreenivas is an accomplished interventional cardiologist who joined HLT in 2020. Dr. Shreenivas has served as the director of the structural heart program and section head of the catheterization lab at the University of Cincinnati and served as the primary investigator on numerous clinical trials. Prior to accepting this position, Dr. Shreenivas worked with several startups in the health-tech and med-device sectors and helped guide several companies in performing early-stage medical device clinical studies. In addition, Dr. Shreenivas also holds a Master’s of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sue Raddatz: Vice President, Operations
Sue joined HLT in 2016 and is responsible for manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution. Sue brings over 25 years of experience with 15 years in traditional manufacturing, using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques to reduce cost and improve processes, and has worked in the Medical Device industry for over 10 years. Prior to joining HLT, she led the Operations team at a Medical Device company that supported product development through EU commercialization of counter-pulsation technology for heart failure patients. Sue earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Engineering & Management from North Dakota State University. She was a member of the Advisory Board for the Manufacturing Operations Management program at the University of Minnesota.
Encarna Bueno: Finance Controller
Encarna joined HLT in 2018 and serves as Officer on the company’s Executive Committee and is responsible for leading the finance organization and key supporting functions, including Financial Planning and Analysis, Controllership, Treasury, Internal Audit and Strategic Planning. Prior to joining HLT, she served in a variety of financial positions at General Electric, supporting Supply Chain, Controlling and Commercial functions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions on the Energy business. Encarna earned a Bachelor’s of Administration degree in Business Management and Administration from Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Angela Swenson: Vice President, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs
Angie joined HLT in 2017 and has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry as a leader in the strategic planning and execution of clinical trials and approvals. Her leadership led to the successful execution of global clinical trials in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan for prosthetic heart valves to support regulatory approvals. She has also strategically developed and managed global studies for drug-coated balloons for peripheral vascular disease, renal denervation trials, and hypothermia treatment for acute MI. Angie holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Medical Technology and a certification from the University of Chicago Graham School for Clinical Trial Management.
Tom Gerold: Sr. Director, Research and Development
Tom joined HLT in the spring of 2019 to lead Research, Development, and Testing activities. Tom’s decade of R&D leadership experience in medical device startups spans interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular, structural heart, and trauma orthopedics. Prior to joining HLT Medical, Tom led the OEM Balloons division within Teleflex. Tom also co-founded his own angel-funded medical device startup, Fixx Orthopedics, leading business development and R&D activities. Tom earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and holds several issued patents.
Miranda Zignego: Sr. Manager, Human Resources
Miranda joined HLT in January 2022 and serves as Senior Manager, Human Resources. With more than 10 years in the medical device industry, she partners with all levels of management, offering strategic ideas to integrate HR with business objectives to achieve company goals. Miranda has a passion for employee engagement, culture and creating a winning team that drives to deliver results. Prior to HLT, she spent nearly five years at Bracco Medical Technologies (a Bracco group) as a member of the global HR team. Miranda earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology and Human Resource Management and Master’s of Science degree in Training and Human Resource Development from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Brent Rosenberger: Director, Quality Systems
Brent has been with HLT since 2021 and leads Quality Assurance to ensure the quality management system is compliant to applicable regulations and fully supports business operations. Brent’s broad domestic and international experience includes working at multi-national, mid-size and startup medical device organizations; specifically, leading Quality teams in manufacturing, engineering, quality systems and quality control. Brent earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota. In addition, Brent earned an MBA in Operations Management from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota and actively maintains licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
